This event is designed to educate, motivate & connect all indie musicians & aspiring music executives who are looking for multiple ways to break into the entertainment industry as well as network & ask direct questions to an all star panelist lineup!

Carvin Garland Haggins is a Grammy Award Winning and Multi-Platinum Selling Song Writer, Producer, Engineer, Co-Founder of Karma Productions, Co-Creator of Forever Music Inc. and the creator of Ethical Music Entertainment.

​

The Philadelphia native has written hit songs for Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Miguel, Faith Evans, Justin Timberlake, Raheem DeVaughn, and Musiq SoulChild. Carvin has always believed that the best songs come from real life experiences, and has earned a reputation for writing songs that “mean something.” Carvin has been making music since he was 11, and has developed a unique style. In the 1990’s Carvin began working as a producer at “A Touch of Jazz” (ATOJ) for DJ Jazzy Jeff. It was there, that Carvin started getting a lot of recognition for his work. It wasn’t long before his songs started making an impact in the music industry. Carvin’s early work was featured on “The Nutty Professor II,” “Love Jones,” and the “Rush Hour 2” movie soundtracks. He also collaborated on Will Smith’s soundtrack for the movie “Wild Wild West.”

At ATOJ Carvin met and began working with Ivan Barias. In 2001, Carvin and Ivan started Karma Productions and have since become one of the most sought after producing duos in the country. The pair, who are now known world-wide, have had several songs at the top of the Billboard Charts including: “Love” (Musiq), “Customer” (Raheem DeVaughn), “If You Leave” (Mary J. Blige and Musiq), and “Gotta Find My Way Back” (Jaheem) Introducing Stokley (Stokley) to name a few.

After recently celebrating 10 years of having Top 10 Billboard Charting records, Carvin and Ivan followed that up with 5 Grammy nominations in 2011. They were nominated for Jaheem’s hit song “Finding My Way Back.” They were also nominated in the R&B Song of the Year category for “Gone Already” by Faith Evans. Most recently, Carvin worked on projects for Ledisi, Raheem DeVaughn, Estelle and 2014 Grammy nominated albums for Chrisette Michele and TGT.

The creator of the Ethical Music Entertainment label, Haggins is behind a movement to bring respect back to radio. His artist Montina who is one of the Momma’s who sings background for Beyonce, Mz Lynx who was on MTV, Lex Dime who has a movement called Lost Girls and BriaMarie, whose singles “IDK” and“Celebrate” was featured on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Haggins’ mission is to make music that is positive, has clean and clever lyrics, and will keep you moving. To Haggins, not only making music, but raising up another generation of musicians, writers and producers that create “real” music is as important.

Roxy Romeo is an established media professional that is always striving to get to the next level of greatness. A Caribbean-American, from Trinidad & Tobago, Roxy graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Communications and Marketing. While attending college, she hosted her own show on an underground radio station while, at the same time, hosting a local TV show, Caribbean Beats. Roxy has had the media bug ever since. 

 

Upon completing an internship with Cox Media, Roxy moved back to Miami and immediately got hired at iHeart Media. During her 10 year in Miami, Roxy had the opportunity to interview the likes of Will Smith, Sarah Jessica Parker, former Vice President, Joe Biden, Taraji Henson, Nick Cannon, and more. After doing the night show on Y100 for 3 years, she said goodbye to take on a new opportunity, middays on REAL 103.9 in Las Vegas as well as Assistant Program Director/Music Director. After making her mark in Las Vegas, she has now found a new home in Philadelphia on Power 99. Aside from being a part of the incomparable Rise & Grind Morning Show, she can also be heard on 93.7 the Beat in Houston, 103.5 the Beat and 93.9 MIA in Miami, and across the country with her syndicated show, as she is a national talent. Roxy’s versatility, allows her access to Top 40, Rhythmic, and Urban radio stations, and she stays in the know all across the board. Regardless of what station she happens to be on at the moment, she never misses an opportunity to let her listeners know how proud she is of her West Indian-Trini roots.

During her radio career, Roxy’s voice has become one of the most sought after in the market, voicing ads for brands such as BET, Macys, Coca-Cola, Smirnoff and AT&T. She was also the voice of Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution which was broadcast nationally on FOX TV. She has been voicing radio/TV commercials and imaging radio stations for over 7 years now and continues to spread her wings, expanding within the media industry.

Aside from social media, Roxy also loves to connect face-to-face with the people she talks to everyday and hosting events is one way she gets to do that. She has hosted large festivals and concerts like Miami Carnival, The 103.5 Beatdown, and Y100’s Jingle Ball, which attracts anywhere upwards of 15,000 attendees. On an intimate scale, Roxy also hosts functions like Macy’s fashion shows, Art Basel events, and artist related sessions.

​

Roxy is also a devout philanthropist. She has hosted a number of events for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as the American Cancer Society. Roxy has also run both a half and full marathon to raise money for cancer research. Charity is something extremely important to her. Roxy believes helping each other is our duty as human beings.Most recently, she was honored by Hennessy at their Black History Month event, as well as, Social World Networking Professional’s Women of Class event during Women’s History Month. She was named one of “The Top 40 Under 40 Leaders of Today and Tomorrow” published by South Florida’s Legacy Magazine June 2014, plus, The Silver State Awards Radio Talent nominee 2017.

Chill Moody cemented his status as one of the top lyricists & performers to hit Philadelphia in years when he won “Best Rapper” in Philadelphia Magazine’s annual “Best of Philly” issue. He was also named Philadelphia’s Music Ambassador by Councilman David Oh, due to his tireless efforts to "put the city on" as well as his local & national accomplishments over the years. A West Philadelphia native, his lifestyle brand “nicethings” now includes clothing line, consulting firm, a record label (nicethingsMUSIC), and even a line of craft beer (nicethingsIPA, a collaboration with Dock Street Brewery). He recently partnered with Philly R&B singer Donn T to start a new group called &More (Chill Moody & Donn T).

Daysha Ali is a multimedia producer at Radio-One. The Philadelphia native, received her B.S degree in Mass Communications at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Daysha has worked in urban media her whole professional career as a producer at Radio-One, Philadelphia. While producing various live radio shows for different day parts and being a social media marketing strategist, she also wears many hats from assisting the marketing department with executing station events in to being a community affair coordinator in the programming department.Her main goal and passion is providing a platform for the community to be informed and entertained.


Outside of radio, Daysha Ali is an active member of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ) serving on the Cannabis Task Force committee. Daysha also hosts and produces her own web series call ‘The Chill Spot Philly’ which focuses on art, music and sports. When she’s not immersed in music and community activities she’s advocating and learning about the benefits of cannabis.

Born and raised in Yeadon, Pa, Rochelle K. Helm aka Roxi Fab, was an aspiring lead singer, but later realized that she loved background vocals, as well as makeup artistry and skin care. In 2005, she attended and graduated from the Jean Madeline Education Institute and received her Esthetician diploma and PA State License. Roxi is the spitting image of her father, legendary radio personality from WDAS, Carl Helm. Along-side of her father, she met many artists like her idol Patti Labelle, Phyllis Hyman, Teena Marie, Prince, and Michael Jackson, just to name a few. Her father can be heard doing background vocals for many artists as well, such as Patti Labelle, Phyllis Hyman, Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass, The Stylistics, The Spinners, Deniece Williams, and many, many more. Through these experiences, he helped her realize and discover her talents and her passion for music. In high school, she was very active in the music department, participating in every play and on the choir to showcase her many talents.

​

In 2015, she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps as a Disc Jockey/Radio Personality of her own show called “The Roxi Fab Show” now heard via www.RoxiFabShow.com . Roxi is also a community advocate. Using this platform, “The Roxi Fab Show”, she’s always vocal about the community and what we can do to assist our children against this violence currently taking place in our City. Having a teenage son, she is doing her best to fight for the lives of the children in her community.

​

Roxi currently sings with a collective called “Sistahs Attune”. She can also be seen acting in hit stage plays, a film entitled “Road to Truth” set to drop May 2019, as well as gracing the runway as a plus size model in numerous fashion shows for multiple designers. She’s also been a part- time Personal Assistant for Ms. Ellen Smith (Mega Star Will Smith’s sister), and Lady B (Legendary Radio Personality). And she also sings background for 90’s R&B crooner, Christopher Williams, known for the hit “Don’t Wake Me, I’m Dreamin.” In her spare time, Roxi enjoys writing music, watching movies, and spending time with her new grandson Liam!
