SIERRA LEVER.png

As an Associate Marketing Director, Sierra Lever develops and executes marketing plans for an urban roster signed to Columbia Records. Her role is to build the most comprehensive strategic plans for single, album, EP and video launches and overall artist branding. A few acts she currently leads include, 24kGoldn, Chloe x Halle, Fivio Foreign, Lecrae, Polo G, SimXSantana, Tyga and more. In her career, she has also worked at Capitol Records and Motown Records, marketing artists in both urban and pop genres. Prior to working at a label, she worked at the LA Philharmonic in marketing where the focus was on developing strategy that enticed patrons to attend concerts at two of the nation’s most iconic performance venues, the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl.

Originally from Portland, OR, she got her first start in music through an internship with The Recording Academy, and worked in multiple departments within the company. After graduating from Syracuse University with a master's degree in Sport Venue & Event Management, she moved straight to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams and wants to inspire others to do the same in fulfilling their purpose!  Lever currently sits on The Recording Academy Membership Committee, as a second year in a row.

NICOLE PLANTIN.png

In the world of Entertainment, passion is the motivator but ambition is the catalyst. For Nicole Plantin, her love of music fueled her desire to not only enter the game, but also change it.

As a child, Nicole always had a knack for creativity, writing lengthy stories and sketching and designing outfits. San Francisco born and Queens New York raised, she grew up in a Haitian-American household with a mom who was a clothing designer and a musically inclined father. “I grew up in the presence of fashion and music.” Nicole recalls.

Acknowledging her past as a direct reflection of her present, a young Plantin often found herself reading liner notes from albums and perfecting her own mixtapes. When her family moved to Queens, New York, her love affair with Hip-Hop really began. “I was surrounded by the culture of Hip-Hop,” she explains. A natural transition into creating music happened, and even when Nicole attended NYU she was considering artistry as her trajectory. “I was fresh out of the water, though, and didn’t know the business,” she admits.

While attending NYU, Plantin began working for Elektra Records, beginning the creative portion of her career. Around that time, the production duo, The Neptunes, were just starting to buzz. Her mentor/boss introduced her to their management which lead to her landing a position at Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo’s Star Trak label. As the hub of Star Trak, Nicole managed the everyday movement of the label from recording budgets to artist relations. She was the A&R Coordinator for all of the label’s releases including notable projects - Clipse “Hell Hath No Fury”, Kelis “Tasty”, N*E*R*D “Fly or Die” and more. Plantin was drawn to the creative aspect of A&R and sought to move deeper into that role.

In pursuit of growth, she ultimately left Star Trak to work with another super producer Rich Harrison (producer of “Crazy in Love” Beyonce, “One Thing” Amerie, “Soldier” Destiny’s Child) as a Product Manager at his newly formed joint venture Richcraft Records/Atlantic. There she helped assemble the girl group Richgirl who later went on to tour with Beyonce and release a few charting records, before deciding to part ways. The label then folded, and shortly after Nicole was presented with the opportunity to work for BMI as the Director of Writer/Publisher Relations- Los Angeles, discovering new talent and signing them to their roster. “Being able to identify talent and have the ability to sign them is one of the most important parts of my career,” she explains. Plantin “connects the dots” between the artists’ creative elements of their careers and business aspects. In addition, she brought a much-needed showcase to the West Coast with Next Fresh Thing, a series that highlighted burgeoning talent in LA. Artists like Miguel and Big Sean are just a few of the acts that were invited to showcase at the Next Fresh Thing before becoming the "next fresh thing".

After 5 years at BMI, Nicole returned to working on the label side of the business with the desire to work hands on and more intimately with artists and their projects. She joined the independent label Rostrum Records (known for discovering and launching the careers of Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller) where she is currently SVP, A&R. During her time there, she took on the projects of artists Mod Sun and Vali, and has also signed Baton Rouge rapper Caleb Brown, UK based singer Taliwhoah, DC rapper Innanet James and others who are soon to be announced.

Nicole is looking to continue to push the envelope and work with talented artists who are making progressive and impactful cultural statements.

DOMINIQUE FERMINpng.png

My name is Dom and I’m an around the way girl with a knack for clever comments, a love of all things Trinidad, and a passion for forming genuine and authentic connections.

After graduating with a degree in Communication Studies and finding out quickly from different agencies that a career in Advertising was not for me, I transitioned to Event Production and fell in love with the ability to see my work come to life. From concepting and strategizing to execution, I was fortunate to spearhead events led by heavy hitting brands like Nike, Facebook, and Apple (Beats By Dre). After gaining immense knowledge, losing lots of sleep, and making lifelong connections I decided it was time to tap into my self drivers. Music. Entertainment. Fashion. News. Style.

I always knew I wanted to be one step closer to the pulse. That pulse I later realized is the culture. Culture is a movement, a moment, and a mood. It is everything we live and breathe, and working at Complex Networks, as a Project Manager for Brand Parternships Studio, that centers me right in the thick of it. I’m a “know what’s hot and what’s not connoisseur” and I can manage a campaign better than Politician. I love it.

She began her career in Atlanta as a talent manager at Content Creative Services, where she managed the day-to-day of artists including Usher, Justin Bieber, Bryan Michael Cox and Mary J. Blige

From there, she hit the ground running, taking the skills she gained in her three years at the agency with her to Nike Sportswear, working in branding and marketing. Still driven for a career music, she was soon hired as Director of Strategic Partnerships at Island Def Jam. In this role, she represented artists on the label and sought out brands to partner them with. Eventually, this led her to another powerhouse brand, Beats By Dre, where she helped to partner the innovative speaker brand with other artists. Moving to Los Angeles to handle Music Marketing at Beats, she dedicated her five years with the company to identifying the right talent for campaigns and launches and support of artist album releases and initiatives.
